Africa's Children in the Diaspora

Finally, the Namibian youth are online and what more can we say, but applaud the driving force behind this project-name shall not be mentioned to protect the not so innocent!

Of late, Namibia's children in the Diaspora have been proudly talking about Otjisomething such that even me; though not a technocrat I’ve come to appreciate the youthfulness of the project. All I can say is keep up the good work and holler if you hear me! And talking about Namibia and Africa in general, you see of late I’ve been trying to take issue with the blacks in the west. Much has been said about the blacks of Africa and their primitive way of life and perceived low IQ such that I could not take it any longer but puke at this talk.

Black people are everywhere on this planet now, thanks to the slave trade apart from pigmentation, Africa is the common link if not the weakest link between all black people around the world. You see, the blacks of Africa are always looked down at by other blacks around the world. As rumor has it, they say the blacks of Africa are the least developed species intellectually! At the top of the list of better developed species are the blacks of America and in second place the blacks of the UK and continental Europe. In third place as you may have guessed, it’s the blacks of the Caribbean and other islands. Then last, and definitely least, it’s the blacks of Africa!

Even more painful is that this segregation is perpetuated by fellow black people who regard themselves as a better species compared to the African breed. Of course I don't claim that the blacks of Africa are better developed but they have a different way of life and their evolution is still ongoing. It is something I do not understand even on the continent itself. I mean our fellow North Africans pay more allegiance to Europe than the rest of Africa. They see Africa as another world, separated from their own. Well, to some extent this may be true because these guys up north their melanin content is closer to that of people in the Middle East. Their melanin is not as abundant as that of sub Sahara Africans so they may doubt their relationship to fellow Africans. However the truth is they are our brothers and sisters, we share a common heritage.

When I first set foot on western soil, a question the second black person I met asked me was whether I bought my clothes on the way! Implying that in Africa we don't put on clothes. Perhaps it was sheer ignorance or just disrespecting a brother as I’ve come to learn of how Africans are looked down at by other black people in the western world. Imagine being reduced to that level and for sure we know that Africans invented clothing in ancient times. Even honeys and I mean black honeys in the Diaspora will hardly recognize African brothers. If there are any friends that I know of who have managed to scoop black American or black British sisters they are just a handful.

Black people looking down on other black people, what a dirty practice. That’s why even in the mind of Caucasians if you talk of great black inventors who have contributed immensely to modern technology they may think you are just blushing. black is always associated with sub Sahara and true those blacks may not be as good as the blacks in the west but given the right environment and resources they can grow up and be like any other black kid in the west. As already mentioned, it is a rare occurrence to find a black African man dating a black British or American honey! Why this is such a rarity, I cannot explain. what happened to the philosophy of humanism, should black people in the Diaspora recognizes and looks at fellow black people as equals and treats them with respect just like any other human being? Or should we just live like that, each man for himself and God for us all?
